FAQ

Questions people ask

Who should own the hosting and domain?

Many clients prefer to own those accounts so they keep control if they change designer. The template lets you choose between the client’s own accounts and accounts set up by the designer in the client’s name.

Does the template cover maintenance?

You choose: no maintenance, fixes for a number of days after launch, or maintenance under a separate written agreement.

Is this legal advice?

No. Contracts.tools gives you an editable draft written in plain language and explains common clauses. It does not know your situation or the law where you live, and laws vary by country and state. Have the draft reviewed, ideally by a lawyer where you work, before anyone signs it.

Can I change the wording after downloading?

Yes. Download the Word file (.docx) and edit it in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs. You can also copy the plain text. Change anything that does not fit your deal; the template is a starting point, not a fixed form.
